Simba SC, the remaining East African club in the CAF Confederations Cup, suffered a 2-0 loss to Egypt's Al Masry, leaving them with a tough task to make it to the semis.

At the Suez Stadium, Simba were downed courtesy of an early goal from Abderrahim Deghmoum, as well as a late strike from John Ebuka.

In Cape Town, Stellenbosch FC held 13-time African winners Zamalek to a barren draw in Cape Town.
